Honestly? I'm going to offer a controversial opinion. Maybe, if it happens, him
Not signing for us wouldn't be such a bad thing. He's an obvious role model for the club, but in my opinion he's simply a short term solution and a pr stunt by the owners. Afterall, every player signed so far by Malky this season has been very young. They all have over ten years of improvement and could well be true premiership forces very soon
Then we have Bellamy, who is ageing rapidly and is injured more and more often due to this. The playing years he has left you can easily count on one hand, meaning you'd have to almost immediately start thinking about a replacement the moment you sign him. Plus I'd be concerned about the effect he'd have on the rest of the team. We have signed two (possibly three soon) young starlets eager to prove themselves both at this level at this club. But they'd have the carpet taken out from under them because we only care for Bellamy.
I mean no disrespect to the man, he's a true legend for Wales and for this club. But the clubs success I feel is more important. I'd honestly sign two Kyung's instead, due to cheap asking price that will almost certainly make us a profit if he left, and the longer contract he would be able to hold.
Happy birthday Bellamy?

I can see exactly where your coming from but I feel the balance of youth and experience are important to any football team. Bellamy can add both experience and quality whilst on the pitch which most clubs at this level can only dream of having. Yes it comes at a price but if so many of our other young talents do make such a nice profit then surely it's worth having one quality player that doesn't as it can be balanced by sales of our other top young players. Of course Bellamy could also have a future at the club past his playing days in some form of coaching role, possibly youth development?
Happy birthday though Bellers

Agreed, he would help this season and a few others too probably, but I don't want this nostalgia to divert the focus from designing a young, future star studded squad, basically.
What if in taking Bellamy we lose interest in a new, 18 year old Cristiano Ronaldo? I know it's a ridiculous statement but it's a generalisation of the point im trying to make.

I can't imagine it being like that, Malky will continue with the youth project he has going with Bellamy purely adding invaluable experience and quality at this level.
Any 18 year old would be reasonably cheap due to the risk being taken by the club signing him. Most signings are risks and this is just another that I think will be one that's worth it. What's Bellamy worth compared to the money Premiership football brings you?
