Their only penalty is being but under a transfer embargo but one in which they can still sign players with the permission of league officials. My guess is that, in effect, there will be no transfer embargo - it sounds like the league will just want to rubber stamp any transfers in the next window before they go ahead.

Between this and their exploitation of the loan rule loophole this season i really hope they finish outside the top 2 then crash out of the play offs.

Yes - it's a shame for the fans as it's not their fault. However, they wasn't really expecting too much from this season surely and have probably enjoyed the ride

Trying to be neutral about it i suppose i can see why there is no fine or points deduction. It seems there was no involvement of the rest of the board in those financial dealings and a penatly now would neither apply to the persons involved at the time or the season in which the offenses took place. What needed to happen was this being discovered during the season it happened and then there would have been a serious decision to make over a points deduction.

The question of whether a club should be responsible for the misdemeanours of the people running it is a little tricky - even more so years down the line when the people running the club has already changed.

Even though Watford have not broken any rules this season about their loans either i still hope they don't benefit from it. I will have to give my backing for Hull to get the second automatic spot as i can't stand Holloway at Palace and hope they fail too.

As I have said elsewhere, I think things would have been different if the club was still in the same ownership.

The worst part is the fact that Watford's central funding was paid immediately to LNOC, a third party. There are teams that would have spent that more wisely and need it more.
