Probably wrong morally to cap him this early but he'll be coming under pressure from England soon at his present rate of progress. Cap him!

Not a bad shout. Once Wales beat Georgia and then Ireland buckle under the pressure and lose to Moldova, that last game in Cardiff could be perfect for him.

Nice!
I think, despite what the English media say, we need to protect our pool of players and it makes good sense to protect the investment made in Ampadu and then to turn our attention to other dual qualified players, like Fergal Hale-Brown, Cole DaSilva and Tyler Roberts and make sure they are eligible for Wales alone given their talent

If they are good enough, then they are old enough .......... been proved right in the past, but young players are even better protected these days, so give him five minutes and take the uncertainty away
Not for me. I'm a believer that if they want to represent Wales they will wait - same with Woodburn and Wilson.
In the case of Ampadu I would wait until the next campaign to throw him in.

Similarly, David Brooks was outstanding for Sheffield United in yesterday's derby. He was with Wales before switching to England and becoming their man of the tournament in Toulon. However, he has since switched back to Wales.
Keep all these youngsters and the future is bright.

Have we got any bright defenders coming through though? Wales have always had smattering of good forwards and midfielders but have been let down by some blindingly average defenders.

Regan Poole (centre-back at Man Utd)
Gethin Jones (centre-back at Everton)
Rhys Abbruzzese (full-back at City)
Cameron Coxe (full-back at City)
Cole DaSilva (full-back at Chelsea)
All highly rated, with Ampadu able to play as a centre-back, sweeper or midfielder

Niiiiiiiice! All very positive as long as they can all get some decent game time.

Poole is getting game time in cup competitions while Jones is on loan at Barnsley at the mo. DaSilva will probably have to move on due to the Chelsea youth curse but Abbruzzese and Coxe are on the fringes of the City squad
