After having every generation of iPhone since launch I've today bought an S3. I can't look myself in the mirror if I'm honest I never thought it would come to this. It all started a couple of days ago when apple gave me a brand new 4S because of a fault on mine. Before I realised what I was getting caught up in I had it on gumtree and before I knew it I was on my own. This will only be a temporary weakening however just because I was getting curious that the grass may be greener on the other side. I do however think that after this brief fling I will get back with the old and trusted when the I5 is out in a few months.
I'm scared

There there lad, we've all had our own conflict of techno faith. I remember once playing on my mate's rubber key spectrum and actually thinking it was better than my very own Atari 800XL. Racked with guilt (and complete with rubber smelling fingers), I immediately ran all the way home and inserted my 5" floppy into her warm, familiar and welcoming disk drive. We were soon as one again.
That also reminds me of a close shave with a Xerox facsimile, but that's for another day.

I don't want to be a prophet of doom here but I'm going to predict that apple is going to go the way of Microsoft in regards to popularity. Here's why.
- They take their fanbase for granted. The 'Just don't hold it like that then' comment being a prime example.
- They are greedy. Apple have more cash just sitting in the bank than the us government. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-14340470) which I find personally disgusting.
- In light of the above, their products are too expensive. Paying a ridiculous amount extra for the brand.
- I hate how all the products are tied into together, so once you have bought one product you're hooked. Itunes being a prime example.
I'm afraid its a case of deja vu. The above 4 points is exactly what Microsoft was guilty of at the turn if the century - just swap the name apple for ms.
I dislike apple. There, I've said it.

Is this an allegory for the new Cardiff City?

Well, we've probably got more cash reserves than the UK government. Heck, I've probably got more than the UK government. "sorry old chap, all the money is gone" - yes thanks for nothing Mr Brown.

I managed for years with just an iPod, running iTunes on a windows laptop.
Then the wife bought me an iPad. Next, thing, despite me being a total technophobe and a phone is for er ringing people kind of guy, I had to have an iPhone too.
Now I want a mac, but can't/won't justify the cost.
I think they're great products, but yes, over-priced imho
