DW in 3....2.....1....

I generally agree with your post there Gloves. It always seemed to me that a return to blue was inevitable at some point in the future though i had always thought that would come at the time Tan was no longer in control of the club. It seems to me that the return to blue has come about as the result of a 'perfect storm'. I am fairly certain that if the club was stilll in the Premier or sitting at the top of the Championship and playing entertaining football that the rebrand would still be in place now.

The amount of 'reluctant reds' was always going to make the continued acceptance of the rebrand reliant on other factors. That the reversion to blue has happened on the back of relegation, poor performances, disquiet with succesive managers and the end of the the price freeze is no coincidence. The opposition to the rebrand has been in place from the start - it just took enough disillusionment to build up in the attending fanbase to push things over the edge. Tan and the board have obviously realised that not enough people were going to continue to turn up to games and to buy season tickets next season which were due to come with a huge price hike.

The rebrand has felt pointless and damaging to me and i am relieved that the change back has been made. As you say it is probably now time to draw a line under this chapter of the club and try to move forward - on and off the field.

Also we can discuss factors like... was the Shitty attendance in fa cup game anything to do with reversal... or poor season ticket sales...(I think it was that was due to poor run of results not rebrand but it's easier to use rebrand as an excuse)

I think reversal of rebrand will now result in tan not turning debt to equity at all,

The awful attendance for the cup game, the fact that the club could see the ground getting emptier for league games despite the official attendances and the implications that had for next seasons season ticket sales were undoubtedly huge factors in Tan deciding to revert to blue for the home kit.

However fans willingness to keep on supporting the 'product' being sold to them - to keep attending and to pay vastly more for their season ticket next season with the end of the price freeze - is going to be closely linked to how connected and committed they feel to the club. That connection and commitment was always going to be weakened for many fans by the rebrand.

Three 'live feed' of the meeting the other week claimed that only 6% of season ticket holders had renewed thus far. It's since been proved to of been right about the more controversial decisions, so I'm willing to see that as the truth. Even though it's early days, that would of scared the s*it out of the club - those 'official' attendances would of dropped from 22,000 to 1320...
