Trying to think of something positive to say about this, but this is a game that will suit our manager's negative tactics perfectly. Shut up shop and try to stop Bournemouth from playing will be about the size of it. This has 0 - 0 written all over it, which, of course, will be seen as a good result.
We've come a long way from our last decent performance - remember "Super Cala Goes Balistic, City Aren't Atrocious"................?

Bournemouth are streets ahead of us in the goal scoring stakes (they have the best record in the division and we have the worst in the top 10). I also think they are much better as a team regardless of individuals.
I'm afraid I can't see anything else except a straightforward Bournemouth win here.

Eddie Howe is a very good coach, who seems able to get the best out of his players. Understanding their strengths and playing to them is so important. It just seems so "cart before the horse" at City, with Slade trying to fit players into a pre-conceived rigid system. The players we have should be able to play in a much more sophisticated way.
Malky had a similar approach to Slade, but at least he had been able to assemble a squad, with players like Cowie & Conway, whom it suited.
What was it someone said last week....making a sow's ear out of a silk purse....summed up Slade's approach perfectly for me.

No Ravel or Daehli on bench. I fear what's going to happen to Real Madrid today.

Our flair player is Whitts. The fact that the game mostly passes him by these days doesn't seem to matter,

Slade has made the, in my opinion, sensible decision to play it safe away from home against a very good team.
If he had too many flair players on the pitch, we would get destroyed.

Isn't that usually the case?

So sensible 1 down in less than a minute.
