First thought was 'who the f**k is Glenn Roeder?'
Second thought - I'm still not cool with this modern thing of splitting a managers role amongst several people. I'm still yet to see proof of it being effective if the man who buys players isn't the same man that puts them through their paces in training.

No. Either OGS stays and tries to sort it out or we bring Pulis in

Why Pulis??
Why not DiMatteo (if we could get him), Steve Clarke, Zola...

Pulis is proven at getting teams into the Prem, and keeping them there. We can't ask for any more than that.
Plus he was the Premiership Manager of the Year last year.

Pulis is the sensible option, Zola is the decent exciting option, Steve Clarke is the 'who knows what'll happen' option, Di Matteo is the 'f**k knows what'll happen' option...
Personally if it was one of those four it's Pulis for me - I was promised exciting football with Ole and what we got was a shower head full of faeces. I want results, the team deserve them.

Exactly. What I want is promotion, followed by stability. Pulis is the only one who is by far the most likely to achieve that.
Granted however, I do think Clarke is an excellent coach and Di Matteo and Zola would be the next best after Pulis.

You say you want exciting football red? Then Tony 'long ball' Pulis is not your guy.
I would be content with Pulis (isn't he a fan of cardiff?) but I would be more excited by an appointment such as Gus Poyet or Zola to be honest

Di Matteo is not a bad shout, perhaps Zola but i am not convinced by Clarke. I guess as far as "why Pulis?" though, the fact that he is the current Premier Manager of the Year, has vast experience, has never been relegated and did a fantastic job at Palace at turning around a sinking ship (sound familiar?) might have something to do with it.
As i have said before i know that if he was appointed a lot of people would not be happy but he definitely ticks a lot of the boxes for what the club needs at the moment if not what all of the fans want.
If we go for an appointment with less experience and more flair then fair enough. I just hope the next manager has an understanding that the crowd pleasing aims of attacking, flair football can only be achieved on the the foundation of the boring, less sexy, building blocks of solidity and organisation.

Yes Pulis is the best chance of a 'does what it says on the tin' kind of appointment. Not exciting for some i guess but better than Ole's fancily packaged, enticingly advertised product that turned out to have feck all in the tin.

Pulis doesn't have teams filled with exciting flair but you are guaranteed the most important thing...getting to the Premiership and staying there.
I believe Pulis is a Newport County fan? He was born there.
