This is still rolling along.....
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-citys-departing-captain-mark-7727793
Obviously a lot of bad feeling floating around, particularly in the light of being told he could leave with only 3 days of the window left. However, I would have thought that Hudson might have been a little more far sighted and realised that he was only ever going to be a back-up.
I think there were several big clues................
Ole saying that Marshall would be captain whenever Hudson was not in the team. Why would Hudson not be in the team if he was going to be an automatic first choice?
The emergence of Matt Connolly and the retention of Cala, both players more suited to Ole's style.
Turner being the automatic choice ahead of Hudson in recent times.
The signing of Morrison, gave City four CBs in addition to Hudson. There was plenty of talk about another CB coming in before Manga signed. I would have thought that Hudson's agent would have been more on the ball.
As has been said elsewhere, Hudson was a fine servant to the club, but nothing lasts forever and time had caught up with him.
As a side issue, and at the risk of being accused of being sexist, I feel that, in the light of the clues above, his wife's comments were ill considered and have not helped the situation.

Haven't read what is wife has said but Hudson himself claims that a player accused him of scoring the own goal on purpose, which he was very annoyed about.
Also, in the same interview, he mentions discussions about the club turning back to blue - press havent seemed to picked up on this.

It was apparently a member of staff who allegedly said he scored the og on purpose.

Absolutely ridiculous............as has been said on another board, Hudson wasn't skilful enough to have done that on purpose.
Joking aside, it is a pretty serious accusation about someone who is a credit as a gentleman and footballer. I hope the accuser is dealt with accordingly........some chance of that though in this day and age...............

I am sure Hudson was beginning to get the feeling he would be fighting for a first team spot from outside of the starting line up but it does look like the club itself had turned down bids for him telling clubs he wasn't for sale. Yes the Manga deal might have changed things but i don't think it would have been too much to ask after Morrisson was signed to pull Hudson aside and tell him that the club was still open to bringing in another center back and that he was next in line to leave.
I would dispute that Turner has been chosen over Hudson generally by Ole. Ole points out himself that he picked Hudson but then Hudson got injured - one that kept him out for the rest of the season. I am not at all convinced that if Turner was fit and more saleable that he wouldn't have been on his way ahead of Hudson.
Time to move on for everyone but i CAN see how moving from "Your not for sale and part of our plans for the season" to "You are free to find another club if you want" with days left in the transfer window and then getting accused by a member of staff of scoring an own goal deliberately in your last match for the club might leave a bad taste in the mouth.

I am sure he was part of the plans, but as a back up squad player. The issue is perhaps more sensitive as he was club captain.
With the signing of another CB, Ole has given him the chance of first team football elsewhere. The timing was unfortunate, but I am sure two years at Huddersfield are preferable to the few League & FA Cup outings he might have got at City.

Yes ultimately he made the decision himself to move on to get more regular football. Only Hudson, Ole and some within the club know if they could have been more open and honest with him about his status within the club prior to that.

Too much is being made of tbe whole situation. It's football - these things happen all the time.
Huds wasn't a Phil Dwyer or Don Murray who spent virtually their whole career at the club before being unceremoniously dumped.

Disgusting allegation, unless he's been hiding a Messi-esque level of ball control all these years then there is no way he could of meant to do that. Regardless he's shown but nothing but absolute respect for the fans throughout this on twitter - he has too much class for that sort of thing.
The same twitter feed however has also demonstrated that he quite clearly feels like he has been forced out unfairly. Whether that's true I dare say we'll never know.

I think I should point out that I was referring to the fact that he's been transferred. Kicking up a fuss about that is a complete non story.
The deliberate own goal allegation is completely ludicrous from two angles. First, to think that Huds was a talented enough player to deliberately slice a ball off the outside of his foot with his back to goal and put it in the corner is completely ridiculous. Secondly, if the allegation did come from somebody in the club, which I find hard to believe, they couldn't be involved on the football side of things because they would know how daft it is.
There are still a lot of troublemakers behind the scenes and perhaps the story came from one of them.
