For me it has to be the left fullback. Taylor is okay at championship level but we could do better, John is still a bit too green for me.

I also have concerns about Theophile-Katherine, although Brayford and McNaughton are more than capable to make that position their own.

Then surely that's enough transfers in for now? Our squad is massive and, in my view, we don't really need anyone else. Unless, of course, our best players leave.

But as it stands, I think the squad has depth and quality in nearly all positions.

I think we're ok at full back, particularly with Fabio's improvement towards the end of last season. I also have doubts about KTC but we have Brayford back and Ole seems happy with the position as a promising right back in Luke Coulson has been released. I think we might need a centre back as I don't expect Caulker to stay and Hudson isn't getting any younger. That leaves Cala, Hudson and Nugent with last two both left sided stoppers.
Radio Wales say we are now targetting a midfielder and a defender.

The thing is though is that we half sooo many cm players at the minute - there is enough competition already between Whitts, Daehli, Mutch and Kimbo ( and I guess Gunnarson) - surely one or two will go if we buy more into that area?

Unless radio wales was referring to the out wide positions - I guess a bit of strength in depth would help if either burger-boy or noone got injured. Both kimbo and whitts can play wide but we could do with an out and out wingman who could apply pressure for a starting birth, I don't know, someone like Conway perhaps?

Burgstaller looks like being deployed as the left winger right now. That means assuming Campbell, Caulker, Medel and Marshall are leaving I expect we will look like this -

Lewis
Brayford,Hudson,Cala,Fabio
Kim,Gunnarrson,Daehli
Noone,Macheda,Burgstaller

Hudson sticks out as needing to be replaced, he's now a year older than when he last played regularly and probably out of form. Someone to replace Gunnarrson would also be nice as he's proven a bit shaky when forced to take over from Medel. Maybe a left winger too, although we have Whittingham, Kim and Daehli who could all cover.

Actually, maybe another central midfielder too. Our midfield has a decent technical game but looks a little lightweight - a strong Toure-esque figure might allow us to batter defences a bit more. If we bring in a guy that requires two marks to keep him quiet, that frees up space elsewhere.

I thought Mutch might get a look in somewhere in your team, Red?

Thought Mutch would have been included instead of Kim?

I suppose a lot depends on what shape Ole is planning to go with next season. Even allowing for Burgstaller being deployed on the left i still think we are short of genuine wide players with pace. Cowie, Whittingham, Kim and Odemwingie were all deployed wide at various times last season to little effect. Daehli has tons of ability but is not the kind of player to leave his marker for pace and get to the byline.

I agree with a number of other points though.  A left back would be nice and maybe that strong holding midfield player if the right player came along. Centre Back i think could be left until January while monitoring how Hudson adapts back to life in the Championship again. A loan signing in that position til January for a promising youngster could provide short term cover til then.

My own gut feeling is that we will see 4-4-2 used a lot more this coming season hence my desire for extra cover out wide.

Of course the squad is already too large even without any more additions so i expect some serious pruning of existing players going on through the summer if suitable offers come in.

Left wing (Burgstaller is apparently more of a central midfielder although we will find out in due course). I have always been a fan of Bakary Sako at Wolves? Marshall may need to be replaced, and a central defender. That would be fine.

Another defender option I forgot about earlier (so has everybody else) is Matt Connolly. Has done well in Championship winning teams but not good enough for the Prem.

Alright alright, I forgot Mutch... Where would you like to see Ole strengthen next? 692773407

If Burgstaller isn't going to be considered primarily a left winger, then that position should be a priority purely because we haven't really got one.
