Yaya Toure has just given an interview to the BBC about his season, and if Nikolas Postingers quotes from him are correct, it's pretty outrageous -
'To be honest I haven't gotten enough recognition this season...when you look at my statistics they are quite incredible. Eto, Drogba, those players are more legends for me. They're not recognised enough, you can say it's about skin colour'
So to summarise -
-He reckons he hasn't had enough respect this season. Considering he's making every pundit imaginables dream team and is among the favourites for player of the season. And that's not good enough for him? How big headed is he?
-he reckons Eto and Drogba, two of the finest centre forwards to grace the modern game, aren't given the credit they deserve and it's because they are black
In short, grow up.

What's baffled me is his racism argument. I assumed when he used Eto and Drogba as examples he was referring to African footballers being discriminated against rather than black players, but he's quite clearly quoted as saying it's due to skin colour.
In which case, he's clearly not familiar with Pele who's been considered the best footballer of all time for 40 years now, or Thierry Henry, the best striker to ever grace the premier league.

He never was on my mine
A player that deals with frustration by stamping on people is always hard to like, and watching him against Cardiff I noticed he starts throwing his toys out of the pram if he doesn't get his way, fouling people petulantly. Kind of like Fellaini, although no one could be anywhere as awful as he is.

He is a great player but I dislike anyone who then says "look at me, I'm much BETTER than all the praise you've already heaped on me". A bit like Ibrahimovic in that sense, although he at least as learned how to parody himself.

I would've thought Shane Long would win every year for you Gloves
Can't believe I left him off the list!
