Hi everyone,

I expect a lot of Norwegians have registered on this forum the past few days, and as a contribution we could add information that comes in the Norwegian media. Norways answer to Sky, Tv2, obviously has a lot of info about this but they only send in Norwegian. I take it this would be interesting for you guys and a thank you from your new members from Norway.

TV2 reports that Solskjær will be announced as a new manager today. Solskjær has been spotted with Mehmet Dalman and Solskjærs agent Jim Solbakken at a luxury hotel in Cardiff. A press conference could be expected in 25 minutes at 12 GMT. They also report that Molde will announce shortly the future of the Norwegian side, whether he will stay or leave. Molde coaches Richard Hartis and Mark Dempsey, former Man Utd is expected to join him to Cardiff, and was with him at Emirates yesterday (Source: http://www.vg.no/sport/fotball/engelsk/artikkel.php?artid=10149016 ). Molde and Cardiff have reportedly negotiated for compensation for the three of them today.

Update 1: TV2 has a journalist in the halls at Moldes stadium, and the Director of Molde has been on the phone for the entire day. Hartis and Dempseys desks are completely clean. Moldes head of press is running in and out of his office.

Update 2: Director of Molde just said to Norwegian TV2 that everything has been postponed for an hour or two. They have clearly not agreed on the terms for letting Solskjær, Dempsey and Hartis go half a year earlier than their contract says.

Update 3: Solskjær has arrived at Cardiff City Stadium with his agent Jim Solbakken. Only thing left is agreeing for the compensation to Molde for letting manager and coaches leave.

Are you a Molde supporter Ludd? Have you heard any rumours regarding Solskjaer's first signings?

Molde supports on twitter are saying he'll probably want to bring Mats Daehli with him - a United youngster who is being called the new Xavi. Been mentioned elsewhere but it helps answer your question Slumdog.

On paper good news, but we've not had the best luck in that part of the world yet... Information from the Norwegian media 692773407

I do think Cornelius will come good under OGS as he will already know a lot about him. Daehli is a banker and I think that's also a mere formality and it would be good to see someone who can genuinely play as a deep playmaker in a City shirt.

But I'd like to know a bit about where his other priorities lie, such as a left winger or centre back and maybe the sort of person in the frame.

I agree, I still don't think he's been used in the right set up yet. What's happened this far is he's been used as Campbell's regular substitute - which falls on it's face straight away as they are leagues apart in terms of speed. Cornelius scored most of his goals with his head, while Campbell's thrives on balls he can run onto. We need wingers that are capable of doing the footwork and then putting the ball high into the box. That's what happened at Copenhagen, and what won him all the awards. Only under that playstyle can he really be fairly judged.

I'm not a Molde supporter, I support the team from my home town Lillestrøm. Of course I follow Molde, and they do have some of the biggest talents in Norway. Worth mentioning and names that flow on twitter and in the Norwegian media is Mats Møller-Dæhli, Ørjan Nyland and Vegard Forren. The two first mentioned are the two of the largest talents Norway ever had.
Møller-Dæhli has everything it takes to become a Premier League player, and he was academy player of the year last season in Man Utd, at the same time as players like Januzaj played there.
Nyland is a goalkeeper and also a very big talent. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a top class Premier League keeper one day. Both of them are young and very talented.
Forren was picked up by Southampton last winter but the manager that picked him up was fired just after he arrived and didnt get any chances.

Møller-Dæhli and Nyland are the two most likely to bring from Molde, I'm not so sure about Forren. Nyland and Møller-Dæhli would be signings for long term, not short.

To summarize I doubt Møller-Dæhli will be one of his first targets for the winter window, as he would not be a short term signing. He will be a target, and the sooner the better(cheaper), but I dont think he will rush it.

When Solskjær was linked to Aston Villa he reportedly wanted to bring Magnus Wolff Eikrem, that was sold to Heerenveen this summer. He might also be a potential signing.

Yes I found Forren's rejection quite surprising as I rated him! Hadn't heard of Nyland...although I had hoped he would bring a good defender with him

Forren is a left-footed central defender, got good qualities with the ball, good dueler and is a threat on offensive set pieces. Got a major fault however as he lacks speed. Don't think he is a premier league player, unfortunately. I doubt Solskjær will bring any defenders from Norway.
