I really, really wouldn't want Tom Ince at any price. If he goes to Swansea, then his excuse about not wanting to relocate his family will be seen for the sham we all knew it was. We don't need players like that.
Montero appears to be as good a player as Ince and to me seems a much better option all round. Although a different nationality, another native Spanish speaker will be company for Medel and Maximillian Whatsit and that must be good for the squad.
Perhaps we should follow the example of Newcastle with their core of French speakers and look to reinforce the squad from South America, where there seems to be better value for money?

I agree tda - much better options in south America.
It's clear that Tom does not want to play for us, the biggest turn off for a football fan.
I can't help but think his dad helped formulate a negative opinion of our club.
Good riddings and good luck to him

Football fans are fickle - if he signed for us in January and picked up twenty assists everything would be forgotten and he would be paraded like a god. If he doesn't sign for us then he'll be booed for the rest of his career by Cardiff fans.
You can't look too much into it is what I'm trying to say. It's easy as a Cardiff fan to be offended when a snub is perceived, but look at it from Tom Ince's perspective - why would he care about Cardiff City? He's had six months to think about it and he may of changed his mind, we don't know.
Only slightly related however - Ince on one side, Montero's on the other? Would definetely solve our winger problem..

A further thought on this......
.......if I was a Blackpool fan or shareholder, I would be extremely concerned by the obvious influence and resulting conflict of interest on the part of father Paul Ince, that will probably result in his son being sold anyway, but for a much lower price than last summer. How has Ince Snr acted in the best interest of the club?
So far as I aware, he was/still is manager of Blackpool and not his son's agent. I shouldn't imagine that FA rules would permit that combination anyway, so what the hell was he doing in Cardiff last summer?

I doubt his price'll drop - he's been in excellent form thus far this season. 6 goals in 12 games is an excellent haul for a winger, and the January window always sees prices inflated on players that have hit good form.
And regarding Paul Ince - he's his father for goodness sake. Of course he's got a vestedw interest in his sons future, and I highly doubt the FA would be taking a father giving his son career advice any further.

Also, Ince is in the starting eleven for the U21 friendly tonight. I'll be too busy watching the senior squad get hammered by Germany's B side, so if someone with BT sport could keep an eye on if Ince is the real deal , that'll be great.

Paul Ince is also an employee of Blackpool FC and should therefore should not have been involved in any decision that might ultimately result in an unnecessary financial loss for the club. He should have stood back from the situation and let an agent take centre stage. He could still say whatever he wanted to his son in private.Red614 wrote:I doubt his price'll drop - he's been in excellent form thus far this season. 6 goals in 12 games is an excellent haul for a winger, and the January window always sees prices inflated on players that have hit good form.

It will be interesting to see if Ince Jnr does command £8m and, indeed, if Swansea are prepared to pay that, in the light of what they said in the summer.
