Having seen the game (and the repeated replay on your link) i think the word cheat is harsh on this occassion. I am pretty sure Sturridge attempted to head it but ended up with the ball bouncing off his arm the same way as it did off Campbell's shoulder for our goal in the Man City game.
Unlike Campbell's goal the Sturridge effort should have been ruled out if spotted but i am pretty sure that NO player would be running up to the ref trying to get the goal disallowed in an unprecedented bout of honesty
Goal line technology is fine because it works instantly without the need for any kind of visual replay. As for the rest of the wrong decisions that occur during games well fans just have to rely on that 'things balance out over a season' line to ease the pain when one of those decisions go against you (when they go in your favour a shrug and a smile is all that's required).

played cricket for many years, not the worlds greatest batsman and not always the worlds tidiest off-spin bowler either. when you are in the middle with a bat, you know if you get even the fainest of tickles with a ball. i always walked, never waited for the umpires decision. i have been given out bowled when the bails were dislodged by the wicket-keepers pads and have run-out guys and not seen it given. cheating is cheating and it makes me puke
