Did a club statement ever tell us anything we didn't already know?

yes it does tell us more.
1. it tells us that ian moody has been sacked
2. it tells us that player recruitment is now in the hands of tan siri vincent tan and the manager. by stating that, it may not have happened that way as the word continue was not included.
3. the statement implies that vinnie has never asked malky for his resignation
in reply to gster. have to ask how come ian moody's dossier was so bereft of research and no he is not head of recruitment, that is vt and mm

It doesn't say he was sacked, just that he's left the club. And I can't see anything that implies that malky's resignation was never asked for.davewebber65 wrote:yes it does tell us more.

If player recruitment is in the hands of tan and malky, what does a Head of Recruitment actually do?

Um.......whitewash the walls in the changing rooms, catch up with a few City games on his laptop.......I'm sure there'll be some time left over to make a few rounds of tea and maybe do some photocopying too.The Tonker wrote:It doesn't say he was sacked, just that he's left the club. It's a right b*gger's muddle.......
This amounts to the age-old "vote of confidence" in the manager and does little to dispel the speculation surrounding the issues.
This is going to roll on at least until we start playing games again.

See what I mean? A clear statement where you are just honest about what's happening would of made everything so much easier. Instead we get the big standard business response, and Tan does zilch to improve his public image.

Maybe he thought that being honest about what's happening would result in ever more lurid headlines and media interest, whereas the standard business response (which is the sort of things most clubs would issue) plays things down, doesn't fuel any fires, and eventually the media circus will move on elsewhere.
I guess this journo got it completely wrong.

Must have needed to wrote something so just made up this story. Classic, worse than the WO (which actually has improved massively since the sacking of Dave Jones - I often pick their articles over the national press because they actually know the club they are taking about)

and leave us locals to pick up the pieces from the destruction of the aftermathThe Tonker wrote:Maybe he thought that being honest about what's happening would result in ever more lurid headlines and media interest, whereas the standard business response (which is the sort of things most clubs would issue) plays things down, doesn't fuel any fires, and eventually the media circus will move on elsewhere.
