Admittedly this is the Sun, but if they did, surely that would be the SPL finished?

Also - I do not think that it would be fair on the league 2 teams for the scots to just come in and jump several leagues.

Doubt very much that it's true - but still, could lead to an interesting discussion!

..and what about the Bury fans ffs? There club goes out into extinction because the scots fancy joining the english leagues?

Ridiculous! It's never going to happen in a million years... so I'm not sure why I'm bother getting annoyed by it.

To be honest, if its a merge, Bury fans might be up for it. Could be the only change their club has of making it up through the league systems further. Bury will always find it hard otherwise due to the location of the club and the massive giants of clubs around them.

However, the only way a merge would happen would be if they played at a neutral new ground or they played one game in Scotland, the other in Bury etc. That's the only way that'd work. Can't see Bury fans seeing their team buggering off to Glasgow for every home game.

I fancy a new campaign coming on - "Keep Bury Bury". Anybody want to do a lurid youtube video for it?

This is a surprise and a real worry for Bury fans but weirdly I did think some weeks ago whether out of the liquidation, expulsion from the SPL and the creation of the Newco that the 'new' Rangers might not use this crisis as an opportunity to join the English pyramid system even if it meant starting at a lower level like the conference - I sincerely hope that Bury are not a casualty of this initiative - they like us have a proud and unique FA Cup experience to be proud of albeit even further distant than ours!

Can't see it ever happening. Rangers can't just buy the club, move them to scotland and tell the people of Bury if they want to watch their local club, travel to Glasgow.

Isn't that similar to what happened with Wimbledon/MK Dons though?

I can't see the Scottish FA allowing Rangers to play English league games in their territory anyway.

I think since then, new FL rules have come in stating clubs cannot change names. So therefor if Rangers bought Bury, they would have to remain Bury playing in Glasgow.

Does this mean that the rumours elsewhere about us becoming FC Malaysia are rubbish? There's been a lot of pointless angst if that's right!

Well it looks like Hearts are going to vote 'No' for Rangers - I think it's going to start a domino effect - Rangers are in trouble!

Hmmm, interesting. Looking at the way things could potentially pan out for Rangers just makes me more grateful that we have a Chairman willing to bankroll City for the time being. Getting rid of the historical debt would hopefully lift any prospect of a similar situation happening here - what a relief that would be!
