A lot can change in a year. We've gone from our biggest signing being excess baggage from West Ham, to being linked to worldwide stars like Oscar Cardozo. But if we stop for a momen and make up the sums, it gets a tad frightening.

Using our most likely trransfer deals -
Andreas Cornelius - roughly 8 million
Tom Ince - roughly 8 million
Oscar Cardozo - 12 million (I know it failed, but it was still planned)
Vitor Wanyama - 10 million

38 million, in transfer fees alone. Add on wages and we can probably fly ever closer to 50 million. Spin it anyway you like - that's a hell of an investment for a first time premiership squad. I critiscised Southampton for splashing cash last year, but now we're making their spending seem tight.

We have no clarification o the clubs financial status either. Nothing about Langstone, nothing about any change in our downward trend. Potentially, all we've done is MASSIVELY increase our debt, which could bite us in the arse big style I we end up getting relegated.

Realistically that's just the facts, it's not my own personal opinion. I do have to accept though, why I'm loving what's happening at the club right now, that worry is still lingering in th back of my mind.

Fair points and the Southampton analogy is very valid. However, it worked for them, even with a change of manager.

I am sure the club's financial situation wil become clearer once the Langstone thing is out of the way.

However and I have said it before, I am uneasy with the way Sam Hamman was welcomed back. The lack of settlement so far makes me wonder whether Hamman might be tempted by an equity share in lieu of cash and where we go from there doesn't bear thinking about.

I think again it'll b the small minority of ppl will kick up a fuss if sam is aloud bk at the club in Ang capacity, like the small minority who gave bk season tickets when we was announced we be playing in red, whilst we r in the prem ppl are willing to forget Sam nearly ruined us and just get on with it,

To speak bluntly (like I always do to be fair), that's an extraordinary thing to say Vinnie. Sam would of burnt the club to the ground and wouldn't of batted an eyelid, and even now he's trying his best to hurt us by dragging out the loan affairs.

The man doesn't deserve to ever be mentioned in the clubs history, and allowing him back into the club would be the worst thing Tan COULD ever do.

As I don't have close access to the club accounts, or have a clear understanding of the Langstone debt, it would be a tad negative to complain about the spending as the club is in better hands now than it ever has been, and if we weren't being linked with these players, everyone would say the club lacked ambition.

I think Cardozo was someone Malky probably chased before he signed Cornelius however it didn't get leaked until recently. Regardless, if we spent £50-60mil and stayed up, would that be worth it? Both for the club and the city you would have to say yes as the incoming finances would outweigh the expenditure
