I can't understand... It's his 40th and he's not trawling a site he hasn't visited in months... Not like your 40th is a big deal

Wow! Sorry, everyone. I didn't know this existed lol! Just found out via my pm inbox. Thanks for the Birthday wishes. I remember the day well; my family went out for a meal and I drove the wife's car. It wouldn't start when we left. Called out AA; they told us it was the battery. £100 Drove 2 minutes down the road, and it conked out again. AA again. Alternator. Drove with a loaned battery from the aa man. We followed him for about 8 miles with sidelights only, couldn't use the wipers even though torrential rain. Conked out again after 3 miles. Another loaned battery. Managed to limp back to the mechanic I use. Cost another £140 to fix.
Got home at 2:00am, soaking wet.
A great 40th.

But oh...sorry to hear about your "fun" day.
I'll remember it for a long time, I guess.

One day, you'll look back nostalgically at it and laugh - because however how bad it was, it won't be as bad as your 50th!
