Wrexam's Play-Off First Leg

Was a 2-1 win for the Dragons. Second leg to be played on Sunday now. Could cap a great year for Welsh football if they climbed their way back in to the football league.

Love to see a Wrexham v Newport final which would guarantee us another Welsh team in the League (and give us a reason to watch the Football league Show next season).

I'd personally prefer County to get into the League over Wrexham. Got a few pals who support them, plus I was born there and work there and think it could maybe help the City a little if it got into the football league.

Yes a lot of their fans have an issue with Cardiff, but for me there is no rivalry there. I actually quite actively wish them well, think it annoys their fans!

I'd love to see Newport back in there, I think they've done incredibly well to come back from the dead.

Yes Tonker, I'm not a fan, never even been to see them, but if they can get in the football league and get more people, a new generation of fans maybe attending games then it might start to wipe out the huge Man U/Liverpool following in the City. Not gonna happen overnight, but Newport is a much bigger place than many teams in the Football League.

Interestingly, Cardiff were promoted this season in my FM game, while my Newport County team won the blue square premier. Newport took second place in league 2 the following season, Cardiff were relegated from the premiership. My newport side finished midtable their first season in league 1, Cardiff suffered a consecutive relegation to league 1. Next season my Newport drew Cardiff in the playoff final. The football manager in me gave no mercy and Newport won 3-1, never to meet Cardiff again. Lets hope it's not an omen huh?

The problem for me is, my old boss was from Newport and she was a right nasty piece of work. I basically associate the whole of the city with her.

Actually it just makes you a racist. What you're doing is assuming every single person in Newport is exactly the same as the one person you know from there. That's like saying every German person is like Hitler.
