'Economics professor Calvin Jones, of Cardiff University, said there was no proven link between seeing a team on TV and deciding to visit that city.
He said some new jobs would be created but mostly in the stadium and related to transport.'
In the same article it said an extra £58m had been put into the swansea economy during their first season in the Premier League, which could be even bigger for us due to our bigger away section. In the current climate i'd take any extra revenue for our great city, anything is better than nothing.
As an unemployed fella who knows how hard life can be on the bottom rung of society i find this kind of dour, negative outlook really damaging and not at all useful. why can't people come out and say nice things?

Don't worry Drew, to counterbalance that here's the flip side.

If the Langstone deal can be done this summer, then we'll be sitting pretty.

"the club becomes bigger than the Welsh Rugby Union"......ooh, sweet joy and stick your stadium where the sun don't shine!

That's incredible indictment of both football and rugby at their highest levels. Maybe, finally, we might actually be able to banish the "Wales is rugby country" tag that has been inaccurately thrown around for so long.
