Why I'm not worried in the slightest - some stats
Page 1 of 1 • Share
There are 5 games left of the season - a total available of 15 points for each of the top teams.
We are currently 9 points ahead of Watford.
This means that we only need to find 7 points to guarantee promotion, that's assuming Watford win all of their games.
If Watford lose just one of their games, remember three of which are away, we just need to get 4 points to guarantee promotion. If they lose two games, based on current form that's possible, we need to find just one point!
This could all be finished up by the weekend - I'm glad I am a Cardiff fan and not a Watford fan at the moment.
4 Points over the next two games is very achievable and with promotion in the bag, we might start playing with a bit more freedom - the last game of the season against Hull could be an absolute cracker.

I can see Peterborough doing us a favour on Saturday. They dick on us enough, it's time for them to help us for once.

A Cardiff win and a Watford loss on Saturday means Watford have to win every game in the runout and even then only goal difference could see them top us.
It's over, in my opinion.

Sorry but I can see us losing against Forest and Bolton the 2 form teams and then frustratingly only securing draws against Burnley and Charlton hitting the bar 6 times and having 94 clearances off the line which would mean that we might have a last day horror outing at Hull - Watford and Hull could win all their remaining games - theirs is an easier run-in.
Life would be so much better if we rise to the occasion against Forest - one of the biggest games ever for Cardiff City?

Not far off the mark I think - I agree, I'm not entirely comfortable until we get over the finish line (How can any cardiff fan be?).
You have to admit, the odds are most definitely in our favour.
If we fail to get promoted (very highly unlikely) I dread to think what will happen to the club.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's yet another must-win game....

I just looked at the BBC Championship table showing the last 10 games and am not sure whether to be more worried or more relaxed.
For the first 5 games of the last 10 games listed Watford won 4 and drew 1, Hull won 3 and lost 2 and we Won 1, drew 2 and lost 2.
Those mini runs again would see the tables finish 1st - Cardiff 85 points, 2nd Watford 84 points and 3rd Hull 83 points.
I am not sure my nerves would survive it being that tight. On the plus side those runs show Watford at their best and us at our worst. I think Watford would find it hard to finish that strongly now taking into account nerves and other teams they will face scrapping hard for points.
I think we need one win on the board ourselves quickly then the fat lady will be clearing her throat and standing up to approach the mic.

can appreciate what guys say when they suggest that we are going to cross the line with juice to spare. my argument is that we are relying on other teams to do a hatchet job for us. who is to say that it will happen, it may, but on the other hand it may not. will have to consult bro on mathematical ttheory

Unless we get a win Saturday i fear we will all go into a blind panic. That is unless Watford lose!
