...but lose the title to Hull, will anyone be disappointed?
I feel promotion is now a cert, but with only 6 points over Hull, their easier run in and the fact we are still yet to play them it all adds up to the championship still being potentially lost. But will any of us lose any sleep over it?
Me, I'd be very disappointed about losing the title. For about five minutes. Then I'd remember we are a premiership team and suddenly feel much better.

Yeh I will be, I want two parties, one for promotion and then one for winning the league. Yes, I'm greedy.

The urban dictionary says 'dubya' is a slang term "for the most inept president the United States has ever had". Is he your hero, Arkay?

On a scale of 10 being gutted, and 0 being dont give a s**t, I sit firmly on the fence : with a 5. After leading the championship for so long it would feel a little like defeat, but eyes on the bigger prize.

Well, this is how I read my books...

I initially read it in my scrambled up head as 'Arkay Dubai' - rather exotic I thought.
Oh, I wish. Arkay SarfEastLarndarn doesn't have the same ring to it, does it?
The whole v2.0 thing was a conscious effort by myself to be more active and vocal when I came to this forum from CCMB. I was always too terrified of saying anything on there as you get cut down so quickly. Been here long enough that it wasn't really relevant anymore and fancied a bit of a change.

This is what is particularly worrying for me. The title has been there for us since the turn of the year, but we have limped through from then and it is only the inconsistencies of the teams around us that has kept us in the race at all.
Malky's facination with a defensive approach has been the problem. Even now, with, finally, the right midfield combination, we are sitting back on one goal leads, instead of killing off teams.
I seriously worry about our chances in the Premiership if we don't see this season out in the right manner and go up as champs.

i will be elated if we end up being promoted, but in all honesty will also feel let down if we loose out on the title. we have been top of the league since mid -november and to have taken away from us at the death will be down to some inept performances that have been served up mr. mm

The Prem is the target. The monetary difference between finishing first and second is negligible and becomes irrelevant as soon as you are in the Prem due to the huge sums involved. As such, while it's nice to have the trophy, it doesn't really matter to me as long as we go up. That was the goal at the beginning of the season and it would have been achieved, and I remember us all saying back in June that we expected to go up via the play-offs, not automatically and having topped the table since November, only dropping a place towards the end of the campaign. So second would be ok with me!

Exactly Slumdog.
Interestingly, if you look at the premiership table it seems the higher you finish in the championship the worse you do in the premiership. Look at this evidence -
10/11 champions QPR - Currently relegation fodder in 19th, barely dodged drop last year too
11/12 champions Reading - last place in the premiership
10/11 runners up Norwich - 14th in premiership
11/12 runners up Southampton - 11th in premiership
10/11 playoff champions Swansea - 9th place, League cup champions and European football
11/12 playoff champions West Ham - 12th place
Summing that up its pretty scary. Anyone fancy just handing the title to Hull?

I've noticed that before as well, I wonder if it's overconfidence?

Well Reading did a last minute poach from Southampton. The Saints had the quality for most of the season and were able to replicate it in the Premiership, where as Reading's sprint could only last so long. We are obviously the Southampton here and I just hope we dont dropt he ball at the last minute llike they did.
Although I would get over it fairly quickly, there would still be a distinct if onlyfeeling... Initially, I would feel the same as I did Tuesday night. When you feel victory for so long and are totally convinced of it and it snatched from you at the death, I am gutted.
It could be particularly difficult because by the last game of the season we should have had our promotion party and will be looking towards our Champions party - which Hull could very well ruin.

I would be very disappointed to fall at the final hurdle even though the big prize, promotion to the Premiership had been achieved. Here's why.
Should we be successful in gaining promotion, this will probably be the last time we compete to actually win the league that we are playing in until we are relegated again! That could be sooner rather than later, but I want us to be winners especially give the length of time we have actually been top of the league.
I can't actually see us being involved in "The Race to be Fourth" either for a while!
It's not just about the money.
Anyway, let's see how the newbie fans brought up on a diet of Wembley trips, Play Offs and generally good things happening on the pitch handle a relegation dog fight. We haven't had one for quite a long time!
