Striker A and defender B are both chasing a loose ball towards defender B's box. Both players make contact with the ball simultaneously, knocking the ball to Goalkeeper B who then picks it up. Striker A calls furiously for a back-pass to be given.

If they simulaneously make contact with their heads, then no question od a backpass.........does that help..... A 'You're the Ref' style question 3392635135

I'd say if the striker touched it at the same time, it can't be a backpass. And I'm the ref, so even if I'm wrong, I'm right.

Of course this has an answer and is thus...

Officially a contested drop-ball should be played at the spot of contact.

I say the ball crossed the line and award a goal. Then I tell the striker I'm calling it an own goal and if he whines about his goal bonus I say "ha ha. I tricked you. It was a save after all"
