So obviously the right system for this squad.

4-5-1 is the formation mostly used at the start of the season though and many of us on here were calling for a more attacking 4-4-2 to be used especially at home.

I think it is more about the personnel and the mentality the team is sent out with. Both of those seemed spot on today.

For the first time in months we were not overrun in midfield but that has much to do with the identity of the middle 3 in the 5.

The system works if there is pace to get forward and support the loan striker and provided energy levels can be maintained. To do that, there needs to be better rotation of the squad.

We were lacking that quality striker at the start of the season mind. Maynard was in and out before he had too much chance to adjust. Campbell, today, made a huge difference to that formation, and the confidence and ability of Kim helped no end.

yes we do need to rotate the squad, but i would play the same team against watford. would make some changes for our next home game and consider nugent for barnett and lewis in
