Fans are always supposed to remember their first game but i can't even remember what season it came in with any certainty. I went down sporadically with my father (who was often away a lot anyway) from about 1973/74 i am guessing. All i remember for certain was we got our first season tickets and started going down regularly during the promotion season of 1975/1976.
I've some great memories of Anderson, Evans, Buchanan, Sayer and one of my favourites Alston - and of course THAT kit

Alston and Evans were a great partnership up front. I always remember Alston trying an outrageous shot at goal straight from the kick off once, and it so nearly came off.Toast Boy wrote:davewebber65 wrote:its a riveting read. 64 to date should be interesting. saw my first match in 1961

mw first match was cardiff city v stoke in the old first division. went down with a mate to see stan matthews play when he was about 45. we scored in the 89th minute and stoke equalised, you see nothing has changed. i expect richard shepherd has details of the match
