I'm attending a pub quiz later. What does the font of knowledge that is RBMB esteem to be essential pub quiz knowledge?

You probably need to know as much about the pub as possible - history, beers stocked, prices, landlord's dog's name, etc

You need to be clever and associate with clever people who will attend the pub at the same time as you... it is essential that this is when the pub quiz is due to take place.... avoid selecting team members who dribble, think anthracite is a type of fruit or take medication to stop them running amok... write answers to obscure questions up you arm... roll microfiche containing the entire knowledge base of the world under your prepuce (foreskin or winky turtle neck if you will) then frequently and strategically pop to the lavatory to read whilst passing liquids (not solids)... and win the cup... HUZZAH!

I can vouch for this. Well nearly anyway after living next door to a woman named Iris Wristwatch. She used to get terrible trouble right up until the time she married Tommy Piper.
Come to think of it i haven't heard anything of their son Peter since that unpleasantness at the pepper farm.
