Reported by Cardiff related accounts on twitter, and a girl who called him 'my mothers boyfriends cousin', Tottenham placed a bid of 2 million pounds for Declan John, which was immediately turned down.
It's starting to look pretty genuine - but two million for a seventeen year old? What do they think he could be worth in five years time, nearly double figures?

If there is any truth in this then Malky has a choice to make, For this season trying to get up i can see him relying more on experience and not wanting to risk pushing him ahead towards the first team.
If however Malky sees him being close enough to make the breathrough next season even at Premier level then we need to keep hold of him. Either to develop ourselves as a top class fullback (my preferred option) or to at least get the best price for him if he does move on.
Hopefully the work the Academy has done over the years is beginning to pay off along with our scouting system. It would be great to see the likes of John, Coulson, Nugent, Ralls and Healey all making the grade and becoming regulars in years to come.

Doing some deeper investigation (while also trying to ignore the fact I'm stalking a teenage girls twitter account) she appears to know very little about football so the family connection seems genuine. She also is saying he was stupid for not going, hinting three things -
1) Declan himself is responsible for the leak
2) That he chose not to go of his own accord
3) She's clearly not a Cardiff fan, so in theory has no reason to lie

If Declan is happy to stay that is great. At his age and with City in the position they are at the moment it just makes sense to stay put and keep developing for another year or two. However if i thought there was interest from a club like Spurs then i would be hoping to be pushing for a first team place within 18 months if i stayed at Cardiff.

He's from Merthyr... You have to consider the needs of his family.... £2 million can buy a lot of white lightning and gene therapy
