According to Pontypandy's finest, the sign of a true hero is someone that dives in to a potentially life threatening scenario without a thought for their own safety, in order to help someone in need.
I have to say I think Sam Tan is talking s**t. To me he is describing someone hot headed and reckless. A real hero is someone who calmly assesses the situation, and despite the potential danger to themselves, still goes to anothers aid.
The thing is, he has a lot of influence over the likes of simpleton Elvis Cridlington, and the immature and naive Norman Price and one day he could end up causing a tragedy with his badly thought out advice.

I tend to agree with you. I think it is probably time that an episode where Sam recklessly races into a building to put out a fat fire in Bronwyn McShell-Jones fish and chip shop and it all goes horribly wrong is aired.
Only once he is seen screaming in pain and horribly disfiguired will children begin to learn the worth of responsibility and caution.

I think Norman Price should be put on the same rocket ship as Angela Lansbury and Charlie Hungerford and blasted into space where their uncanny knack for being somehow, if apparently innocently, at the centre of every major incident or murder in Pontypandy/Jursey/small town America can cause no more problems.
Next door idiot
I'd like to see what happens to him after his reckless neglect costs lives and his descent into depression, drug abuse and crime. Eventually getting locked up in the Pontypandy equivalent of Oz (HBO series, not Wizard orientated favela) for waggling his "hose" at Lily Chen after she inadvertently asked to "play with his helmet".

That would make a good Fireman Sam. You know, like the way they rebooted the Batman franchise and went from Joel Schumacher to Christopher Nolan. They could talk about how Sam was left orphaned after his parents were killed and he travelled Asia as a petty theif in order to explore the mindset of the criminal, but only ever steals from his own megacorporation before being released from jail by Liam Neeson, becoming a superhero and saving his hometown.

I always thought Mr Benn was always taking fecking mindblowing risks when he dressed up in random gear and walked through 'the' door... As a chef he could have walked into Ramsay's kitchen... As an Astronaut he could have ended up in Apollo 1... As a cavemen he could have ended up in the Liberty Stadium... David McKee apparently stopped drawing the series after the infamous 'gimp suit' episode where Mr Benn ended up in Tache's lean to with a ball gag in his mouth and Tache with too much time on his hands
:hohoho:

He only stopped writing it because Tan's autoerotic asphyxiation fetish went too far and Mr Benn ended up being dumped in a canal

But did Mr Benn ever dress up as a fireman? He knew that was just a step too far, what a hero.
