"Cardiff City Football Club can today announce that Andrew Taylor has signed a new deal, keeping the 26 year old at the Club until 2016. The former Middlesbrough defender has been a regular under Malky Mackay and continues to impress this season as one of our ever present squad members in the league.
Of the deal Malky Mackay said, “Andrew is one of those players who sometimes goes under the radar when it comes to making headlines, but he is always one of the first names on the teamsheet for me and has been utterly consistent in his attitude, application and performance since he joined us almost eighteen months ago.
“He is one of the guys I know I can absolutely count on week in, week out, so I was really pleased that he is as happy with us as we are with him. Thanks to Andrew and his representatives for working with us to make it a relatively straight forward process.”" From Cardiff City site

Good news, I think. I know he's often criticised, but he's generally among our more reliable defenders, and I think he's a decent player at championship level. It also helps generally to maintain stability in the squad, and after all it's not as if we have a surfeit of defenders at the moment.

I like Taylor and am glad he has signed a new contract.
I did smile at 'he is always one of the first names on the teamsheet for me' though. Considering he is the only senior recognised left back at the club that is hardly surprising.

Not a fan tbh, I'd fancy my chances of getting the better over him.

Ah, but he was excellent in The Thick of It, wasn't he? Now starring in The Hour, fast becoming one of my favourite actors.Arkay v2.0 wrote:Better than Capaldi

I love The Thick Of It...I don't love Taylor though. At a higher level he would be severely exposed by a decent winger
