How about we nominate some heroes without feet of clay or erectile dysfunction (you know how I mean selling a perpetual floppy for a quick buck)... True 'Boys Own' stories of endeavour and valiance we can still look up to...
Robert Falcon Scott... Out of Cardiff into abject failure but went down with dignity
South Wales Borderers circa Rourke's Drift... Victory against insurmountable odds... over-egged to compensate for Isandlwana but what the hey they were a Welsh outfit
Ali (Muhammad not Bongo)
Armstrong... Neil... Who else

Sweet and I was looking for men who single handledly overran German machine nests, brought christianity to Mountain Ash or introduced the 'back to front wipe' to Tredegar ... And you give me bloody Darius 'Colour Blind' Danesh

I think it would be wrong not to show his best moment.
Enjoy.

Good call G-Ster
Also James Stockdale the guy they based the fella in the river cage in the Deer Hunter on... He maintained that no matter how grim your life is now you must accept it and confront the reality of your situation. He also had an unswerving belief that at some stage his life would get better (Stockdale Paradox). He spent 7 years being systematically tortured in horrific ways but accepted it and said that he had no regrets in that it formed who he is today. Unbelievably brave and wise geezer
