Persistency pays off

City were linked with Noone, Maynard & Smith in the January transfer window but didn't get them then. Malky stuck to his guns and finally got the players he wanted. Maybe, if he had got them then, the end of the season might have been different.......that said the squad was thin in other areas......

Anyway, the point of this post is, given that Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson wasn't even on the bench today for Wolves, what price he might still be targeted as perhaps a long term successor to Heider Helguson at CCS......

To be honest with you, Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson can stick his fingers up his arse if he chose Wolves over us. Ditto Goodwillie. We only need players who want to play for us. The rest can feck off

May well be, but my point was that when Malky targets a player, he's likely to try again if he doesn't get him straight away........you have to admit that he is pretty damn good at spotting those players who fit straight in......

We haven't seen Kimbo yet and not much of Velikonja, but the side today didn't look like one that had not played together that much.......exciting times, mon ami

Sigurðarson will still be 1 of Malky's targets If we are prem next season then Malky will go for him again imo.

Wolves havent had the start that they would have wanted but they still have Henry & Sigurðarson to come back into the team yet.

I'm not sure, Helguson won't be used much next season but I think Velikonja will come to the fore in the latter stages of this season and from then on. And we will have Maynard and Mason, as I think we will be able to hang on to him now.

The older guys are here for the short-term to add much needed experience, and their transfer fees reflect that.
