Some fella told him over the phone......so it's a question of whether both the poster is normally spot on and also his source. It could be chinese whispers, it could be nothing at all. Maybe he meant the rugby player?

Don't believe it for one second. Owen has stated a few times that he wants a premier league club otherwise he might consider retirement.

According to reports Stoke and other Prem clubs are interested as well so I really can't see this being true, nor do I want it to be true as his wages would be too much for such an injury prone player.

If fit, without a doubt he would be class at this level, but such a huge risk with his big wage and potential long term injuries.

Plus he has an ego the size of a skyscraper. Even if we did sign him it's obvious to everyone he wouldn't want to be there, and if ANY premiership team showed interest in him again, his transfer request would be back in in a heartbeat.
