To me this doesn't mean that we're matching £70k per week simply that Liverpool are getting rid of that obligation. If we are to get him effectively on a free then a deal can be done. I'm led to believe that that will include a long term contract which takes him past playing into a coaching role.

.......and presumably a decent bonus for promotion this season.

Personally, if he is taking 70k a week off of us, he's robbing a club he's supposed to love blind, and it's pretty insulting. If he loved this club so much he would take a decent offer, not force us to get in money fights with premiership clubs.

Mad Greek you are more On the Ball than Dickie Davies! Useful to have all those Splott connections?
Judging by Craig's 'pre season' with Team GB his acquisition would be more than welcome but I'm finding it difficult to get my head around our likely starting line up?

That's certainly very attack minded:
Back 5 seems sorted at the moment but in front of them we are now getting a squad together to enable variation of the formation
Central Mid: from Gunner Whitts Mutch Kiss (Ralls, Cowie)
Wide: KBK Conway (Harris, Cowie) ..... Bellers?
Up front: Eti Mason Helgus (Gestede, Earnie - I think he'll go} .... Bellers?
I still think that we could do with another wide option with real pace and ideally some additional full back cover.
