Got My Google Nexus 7 Today ..

For those of you following this device, it's a lovely bit of kit. I'd definitely recommend it to those of you who are interested in this product.

It's fast, web browsing is doable, screen is good, apps look great on a 7" tablet, weight and handling is comfortable, keyboard is fine and the voice commands seem to work ok - i.e. saying "open hotmail dot com" opens my email, and "open redbluebirds dot com" also works

As previously mentioned, the only small downside is the lack of Flash, but this is getting phased out of existence anyway, so it's not a biggie. A temporary side-effect of this though is there is no BBC iPlayer, but they are working on a non-flash Android version, and it should be released pretty soon (iPhone version is also non-Flash, so they have the technology all set up).

Anyhoo, loving mine too, not touched the wifes iPad since getting this thing.

Had it a full week now and despite really enjoying playing with the device, if my phone contract was up for renewal soon I'd still get another iPhone.

However, the point is moot as I'm not due a phone upgrade for 14 months so at least I'll be in a good position to weigh up the different operating systems by then..

I can see myself doing a hell of a lot of stuff on this thing that I would normally do on the laptop, but the laptop still has it's place. I think they can happily coexist together and complement each other.

Aye, different tools for different jobs. Phone, Tablet and iMac and use all about as much as each other for slightly different, though sometimes the same, tasks..

I have a wife for cooking, cleaning ironing and... ahem... polishing the silver ware... For all my other needs I only use my IPad... Though my back button still doesn't work first time and now takes two presses (and no Im not missing CCMB ) this extra press now counts toward my Healthy Living exercise regime... Well in honesty IT is my Healthy Living exercise regime

I had trouble getting a US ip address so I added this line to the torrc config file, but restarting the app a few times *should* eventually give you an American address.

The BBC News App is working with streaming video. When BBC iPlayer and HTV Player get their act together regarding HTML5 video, this is gonna be one sweet device.

Basically Flash is dead as far as I am concerned, it doesn't work on Apple, new Android or Windows 8 mobile devices.
