I can't use Chrome on my HTC phone so trialing youth prospects Opera Mini and Dolphin HD with a view to a permanent contract.
Anybody used either or have any recommendations?

Used to use dolphin on the iPad. Use chrome on iPad and android now...
Basically, I want something that's stable without being too slow. My packaged phone browser keeps freezing, meaning I have to remove the battery and reboot.
How does Dolphin fair in that dept?

What htc do you have, if you don't mind me asking?
I have the original Desire but I have since rooted it and flashed the dGB Rom. It's excellent and is like having a new phone. The beauty of dGB is that you can rebuild the phone with entirely your own apps and look without having to worry about the internal memory issue. As a result, it's super fast now but obviously I'm having to do a bit of trial and error on which apps work best.
For what it's worth and in case anyone else is interested, thoughts so far...
Dolphin HD - has lots of apps, great functionality and a really slick interface. The downside is that it is memory heavy and almost too complex in some ways. It has crashed twice in the 48 hours I've used it so far - points off for that.
Opera Mini - simple, functional and VERY fast. It also takes up little memory space, saves data usage and this website (which other browsers have struggled with) has had no problems at all. No crashes, so while less options than Dolphin it's got points ahead at the moment.
Both offer account syncing across platforms with optional email addresses and wotnot.
My testing continues...

I have been using Chrome on my iPad today, but I have just deleted it and gone back to Safari. Bookmarks are a pain to use, and every time I try to type in a box when a page is still loading up, it kept 'chucking me out' and I'd have to constantly be pressing the box to write anything.Officer Crabtree wrote:Used to use dolphin on the iPad.
