How any fan can go from supporting us to Spurs with our intense rivalry and cup history is astonishing.

Clubs exempted from his list should have been: Swansea, Bristol, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds, etc.

After the rebrand fiasco I can understand not wanting to support City - I have sympathy with that. Whoring yourself as a mercenary supporter? That I don't get.

He could just as easily be a neutral and still enjoy football Dudders supporting Spurs for next season 3392635135

Me and Rhys had some pretty serious chat about auctioning off the vacated seat as some publicity for the board and hopefully raise some dough for charity but it didn't happen unfortunately.

Well, mainly it was the idea that we would be auctioning something that didn't belong to us, then we thought we could include a ticket in the auction but then we'd be placing something with clear monetary value in the auction and probably wouldn't attract much in the way of serious bids.

Also, it was just after the KCB meeting debacle and the club had released a statement saying they wanted everybody to 'just darn well get along' and we thought the auction might be seen as a bit contentious so the idea just sort of fizzled out.

Might have been a good bit of publicity though, even if the auction only featured in the local press.

Yes, fair point. The City Player prize is a good idea too. Things like a signed City shirt could generate some interest too, particularly if you can get someone like Steve Borley or Barrie Maccy onboard, if only to retweet the links.

I know a fair few City fans who like to follow club news but would never dream on signing up to a forum just because it hasn't crossed their minds too. A little incentive might just be what's needed.

Was this the surprise that was mentioned a couple of weeks back in the 'Rhys is awesome' thread or is there another treat that Rhys has lined up for the Board? I feel a little bit ungrateful now in asking but I've got too much time on my hands this afternoon...

The club missed out on a big publicity stunt there. They could have put all the refund tickets up for auction and claimed that they were all taken at just over cost price, effectively saying return your tickets and we'll sell them as quick as you return them. Of course they would have had to have pushed the prices up but who would have known that. Dudders supporting Spurs for next season 4228682415

Nah, the Rhys is awesome thread was about an unrelated matter that Rhys wants to keep under wraps for a while. We were discussing the auction only last week. I wanted our auction to start at the same time Dudders auction ended on Sat evening in the hope that it would attract a bit of media attention and maybe get a few more sign ups on the board. Rhys was going to talk to a representative at the club about getting something to throw into the auction but I haven't yet heard how that discussion went.
